The Secretary-General of the United Nations is the head of the Secretariat, one of the principal organs of the United Nations. The current Secretary-General is Ban Ki-moon of South Korea. He became Secretary-General on 1 January 2007.

This is a matter for congratulation to South Korea and I also encouraged by his book “The man of quiet passion, BAN ki-moon.
The Secretary-General acts as the spokesperson and leader of the United Nations. And I hope he can also be one of the leader who can help the world with peace and moreover the Unification of Korea.

The 2nd Korea Summit meeting will be held in North Korea on October 2nd to 4th. South Korea’s President Roh Mu Hyun, and North Korea’s President Kim Jung Il will be meet and talk about Korean Peninsula’s Peace and Prosperity.

Also they are going to focus on economic cooperation in North Korea and South Korea.

The 1st Korea Summit meeting was held in June 15th 2000. And at the meeting South presented “Korean Commonwealth” and North Korea presented “Federation of Lower Stage” as models of future government in unified Korea.

There are only one month left to the 2nd Korea Summit meeting between North Korea and South Korea. And I hope this meeting produce a good result to Korean Peninsula.

As 20C began, there were three amazing revivalisms in Korean Peninsula. They were 1903 Wonsan revivalism, 1907 great Pyongyang revivalism and 1909 campaign for salvation of one million people. The fact that within 10 years after a new century began there were three amazing revivalisms in one country is something rare in the world history.

Due to this recently in South Korea, “Again 1907 Great Pyongyang Revivalism” is a very big campaign to Christians.

Because I am christian, I was more interested in these facts while I do my thesis in Unification of North Korea and South Korea. At the moment in Korea, the churches in Seoul, Dae Gu, Gwang Ju, Mok Po, Wol San, are now praying for “Again 1907 Great Pyongyang Revivalism” Because it is 100 year anniversary of Pyongyang.

On the 11th of August 2007, there was a Great Flood came to Pyongyang, and left a lot of damages to Pyongyang city in North Korea. 221 people died, 82 missing people. 46,000 buildings and houses were destroyed. 11% of the fields in Pyongyang were submerged.

I felt pitiful on this recent news. However, the Ministry of Unification in Industrial Team in South Korea sent rices and cements and financial aids to North Korea. This made me to think the brotherhood of North Korea and South Korea.

The main problem of this flood were because of lack of trees on the mountains in North Korea, and a dam in Pyongyang did not work properly during the flood.
